The Pursuit of Purpose

In the Morning
On Friday May 19th, I awakened to the voice of the Holy Spirit revealing to me that "A lack of vision is the direct result of a lack of prayer (divine communication with God)," and without vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish, but he [or she] who keeps the law [the Word of God] blessed is he [or she] (Proverbs 29:18-Amplified Version).

Prayer is the access point into the presence of God the Father.  When Jesus entered into the dimension of prayer, the dimension of purpose was unlocked, and because He was resolute in the Father's command, He was then able to decipher between the persuasion of man versus the purpose of God (Mark 1:35-39).

Prayer is a dimension, but so is purpose.  As I was studying the subject of purpose, the Holy Spirit showed me a staircase representing divine dimensions leading to destiny.  At the base was the dimension of prayer (prayer is your foundation).  The next was the dimension of purpose. Then, there is the dimension of execution.  At the top of the staircase is the dimension of destiny.  However, nothing happens until you pray.

Each dimension correlates with the other, releasing grace to unlock the others resources, potential and power.  When you hit your knees showing dependency upon God, God's heart is moved on your behalf. Your purpose is revealed through heavenly insight (involving the release of divine information that communicates the Father's heart and will for your life).

Purpose then unlocks the ability to execute the purposes of God thoroughly with precision.  Vision and focus are the companions of purpose leading you ultimately to your God-given destiny.  So take a knee and journey up the staircase of destiny.  Amen.

Covet Not Your Neighbors Opportunities
So purpose presents multiple opportunities (Ephesians 5:15-17), and no opportunity is the same.  In order to seize every God ordained opportunity, we must live purposefully, firmly grasping (mentally and spiritually) what the will of God is for our lives.  Opportunities, also, house favor.  We can miss the favor of God and the opportunity to be favored, if we are not intuned with God through prayer.

We do not have to covet anyone else opportunities or call.  However, many do. Why?  Covetousness is the result of the lack of vision for one's life, and a lack of vision is the result of a lack of prayer.  No prayer, no vision.  No vision, no provision.  Whoa...😮

When we covet the gifts, talents and accumulated wealth and achievements of others, we are communicating to God that He's short on funds and on genius to give us the ability to get wealth and have good success.  Those terms aren't in His DNA or resume.  How can the God that has a limitless supply of "gifts and surprises" be short on anything good?!?!  I'm just saying, people.🙄

We encounter the lack of for several reasons.  One reason being, we are praying our will and not GOD'S WILL.  Go back. Check your last conversation with God. Make sure you did not alter or override what he said for what you wanted.

Let me tell you the downfall of covetousness.  Coveting others goods shuts off our ability to internally receive the Father's heart, because our hearts are full of want, greed, gotta have, ungodly expectations, hypocrisies, idolatry and jealousy; clutter.  Covetousness cuts off our ability to commune and communicate with God effectively, because we are too distracted with things and the lust for things. The lust for things build a wedge between us and God.

Covetousness also disconnects us from the ONE that grounds us and centers us spiritually, mentally and emotionally to hear His instructions in the place of intimacy through the channel of prayer.
When we shut down the prayer line, we disconnect from the God that gives us answers, purpose and a reason for not just existing but being.  Whoo... okay.  That's deep.

Beware of Satan's Tatics
Prayer is an excellent source of communication with God the Father. Moreover, so is the Word of God.  God's Word communicates God's thoughts and heart toward us.  Proverbs 29:18 declares a blessing on all those that obey the Word. God's Word has the power to reveal and communicate God's purposes.

Satan's goal is to make us too tired to read the Word or pray by bombarding us with the to-do's throughout the day.  If we're too tired to pray and/or read the Word then we won't know God's will and how to execute it.

Are You Ready
God asked me a real question.  He said, "You've been asking me for purpose, but ARE YOU PREPARED?"  Many Christian's fail to go forth in their God ordained purpose, because they are not ready.  We dont know when God is going to call us forward. So, PREPARE, or be prepared to sit on the shelf of potential another season.

You have to prepare for your purpose. Invest, invest, invest.  Invest in prayer, personal and corporate study time (incorporating notes).  Buy and thoroughly read books.  Go to conferences and free meetings.  You will be surprised how many free seminars are available, if you're willing to seek for them.  Invest your time and effort.  Be willing to be coached by godly seasoned leaders, mentors, entrepreneurs, etc.  Don't make excuses.  Make strategic moves towards God's will for your life.

You cannot, I repeat, you cannot pursue purpose and be effective without God.  So, question... Are you in purpose, if you're out of God's will?  No, you're not, at least not God's.  Our ability to effectively pursue purpose is tied to our ability to effectively pursue God, moment by moment.

None of us are here by accident.  If you don't know God's will, then seek Him until He reveals it.  When God gives a mandate, He always reveals the purpose behind it. Always.

The reason why many of us don't know our purpose or the reason behind it is the result of our failure to seek God in prayer, or if we are praying, we are not waiting for the answer.  Please, do not pursue your God ordained purpose outside of God's instructions.  Failed purpose is the result of a lack of prayer or getting ahead of God.  If you want to prosper, pray and wait.

Faith in Action
Faith without works is dead (James 2:17 & 26).  Purpose requires faith.  Faith pleases God.  So if you want God to move on your behalf, work your faith.  Our level of action reveals our level of faith.

Faith in action is the preping ground for purpose.  Every action taken in faith is migrating us to the fulfillment of purpose. Faith moves you to do what God has said but you do not see.  Noah demonstrated that kind of faith.  He acted upon what God said but did not see, yet.

Mm...👣  That's good!

The Bible says, "By faith Noah being fore-warned by God concerning events of which as yet, there was no visible sign, took heed and diligently and reverently constructed and prepared an ark for the deliverence of him and his family.  By this [his faith which relied on God] he passed judgment and sentence on the world's unbelief and became an heir and possessor of righteousness (that relation of being right into which God puts the person who has faith] (Hebrews 11:7 - Amplified Version).

Faith in action not only unlocks our purpose but also the resources to fund it. God will liberally supply our every need according to His riches and glory (Philippians 4:19).  Noah had everything he needed to build that ark.  And if you have faith in God and move in obedience to His instructions, you will too.

Live to Glorify God
Our goal from the time we wake up to the time we close our eyes and go to sleep must be to glorify God.  Even in our sleep, we should be dreaming of strategies, answers, solutions, etc.  Jesus life-long goal was to glorify the Father.  When God was glorified, the Son also received glory from the Father.

God is glorified when we fully rely on Him and not ourselves or the strength of another.  When we fully rely on God, He will send in the help needed to fully engage in and fulfill the mandate.  Depending on God the Father is a lifestyle.  If we invest in God's will, He will invest in our future provision (Matthew 6:33).

So what is the meaning of purpose biblically?  Biblical purpose is always the saving of souls, from Abraham to Joseph, from Moses to Esther, from Jeremiah to Jesus.  My God!  This blog is blessing me!

When we pursue purpose we are all assigned to a specific vocation (John 4:35 & 38).  So, what is your assignment and who are you assigned to? Do you know?  If so, get to work winning souls.  The Bible says, "He [or she] that wins souls is wise."

BE A DOER OF THE WORD OF GOD

For Ezra had prepared and set his heart to seek the Law (the Word) of the Lord [to inquire for it and of it, to require and yearn for it], and to do It, and to teach in Israel Its statutes and Its ordinances (Ezra 7:10 --Amplified Version).

We must set our hearts to seek to do the Word of God on a daily basis, throughout the day.  The Bible clearly instructs us to be an active participant of the Word, not just a hearer of it (in one ear and out the other), (mentally and emotionally) deceiving only ourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth] (James 1:22).  The Bible is full of Scriptures that encourage us to seek out God's Word and His will.  There are no exceptions in our seek or in our application of God's Word.  We, who have been born of the water and of the Spirit of God must be fully invested in the Word of God.

The Holy Spirit instructs us to hide the Word in our hearts, that we may avoid actively engaging in sin both in our hearts and in our actions (Psalm 119:11/ paraphrased).  There's a divine blessing in doing the Word of God and being mindful of it. What is the blessing?  The Word of God empowers us to live like God in nature, thought and expectation.

Yes, our expectations change when we fully engage with the Word.  We expect to be holy.  We expect to have joy and God's peace.  We expect to prosper!  We expect to live in accordance to the will of God and to please Him everyday, wholeheartedly.

Why do we live in expectation?  We live in expection, because we have the mind of Christ.  Moreover, the mind of Christ enables us to comprehend the Word of God and God's will for our lives through the ministry work of the Holy Spirit (1Corinthians 2:9-16; Ephesians 3:5/ Amplified Version).

Knowing the Voice of God

It is imperative that we know God's Word. God's Word reveals God's voice.  The voice of God is holiness without compromise found in the Word.  On May 10, me and my sister in the Lord, Dominique Harris, were discussing the importance of distinguishing God's voice from that of a stranger; the Familiar voice vs. the foreign voice.

Jesus said, "My sheep know My voice and another they will not listen to (John 10:14 & 16)."  God's voice will never, I repeat, will never lead you away from the Word of God or scatter you.  Jesus, showed great sorrow as He viewed the state of His sheep (the church; the body of Christ).  We can definitely count on the Word of God holding us together in those moments we feel scattered or discombobulated.  Moreover, God's Word will never lead us away from the voice of God. God's voice will ALWAYS lead us to the Word not the world or its views.

1John 2:15 warns us not to cherish the world or the things that are in the world.  If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him or her.  ...As the Word remains, so are those who keep it (Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33; 1Peter 1:25; 1John 2:17; Revelation 22:14).
If we regularly take the time to hide God's Word in our hearts and keep it, we will ALWAYS have the voice of God near us, to lead us and to guide us out of trouble in this world, into the perfect will of God.

The DNA of God

God's Word also reveals the personal DNA and nature of God.  God is holy, and He hates sin, because sin draws us away from God.  However, God's Word teaches us how to come out of darkness, into the marvelous light of Jesus Christ and who God is.  As we obey the Word of God and listen to the voice of God, we find strength and refuge in who God is.  He is a present help in the time of trouble.  It is the nature of God to protect His sheep.  How do we know that this is His nature? Because it's found in His Word.

David, king and shepherd of Israel (Psalm 78:70-72), dedicated a whole entire chapter on the importance of knowing God's Word. Psalm 119 is actually the longest chapter in the entire Bible.  This chapter not only reveals the importance of knowing God's Word, but, also, the impact it should leave on our lives personally and our personal DNA.  David understood, as king and shepherd to God's people, it would be impossible to affectively lead them without learning, knowing and obeying the Word of God and knowing who God is.

So, I encourage you today, like David, to get in the Word of God.  Become a diligent student of the Word, studying to show yourself approved unto God, a workman who has no reason or cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully [teaching] the Word of Truth (1Timothy 2:15).

Through the Word of God you can live holy and teach other's to do the same.  Isn't that Good News?  Absolutely!

Dare to Be Brave

The life you've been commanded to live and the purpose you've been called to fulfill will take absolute faith and resolved assurance to execute thoroughly and accurately.  You cannot waddle in yesterday's tragedy and expect to obtain future victories.  You have to leave your past and cleave to your future. Why did I mention this?

Well, in Joshua 1:1-2, Joshua was yet grieving over the death of Moses His leader and mentor.  The Bible says, Israel wept for Moses thirty days in the plains of Moab; then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses had ended (Deuteronomy 34:8). It doesn't bother God that we show healthy emotions of grief and sorrow when those we love pass away.  However, it does grieve God when our pain turns into depression.

I believe Joshua was feeling depressed and God was getting a tad bit irritated, not about him mourning Moses death, but how long it was taking.  Joshua's pain was getting in the way of not only God's purpose for his life, but God's intended purpose for His people.  Joshua was chosen to lead the children of Israel into the promised land, but he was too distracted with his grief.  You know it's a problem when God tells you to get up and get on with the mission.

THE MISSION

Was Joshua mentally and emotionally prepared to lead the nation into conquest and the obtaining of a generational promise dating back to his forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?  No, not at that moment. Sure he was strong.  Joshua was a warrior.

Joshua was combat ready physically, but he was lacking the necessary faith, will, mental focus and emotional stamina to lead the children of Israel out the wilderness, over the Jordan and into the promise land.  All five of these components are important if we desire to obtain the promises of God:

.Faith
.Physical strength
.Will
.Mental Focus
.Emotional Stamina

WHEN GOD SPEAKS

Moses death was taking a toll.  Have you ever felt like that?  Has the loss of someone or something you loved and admired ever taken a toll on your confidence and leadership abilities?  I am sure you have and it has.

I know there are times in my life where the pain was speaking louder than the promises of God for my life.  Oh...but when God speaks, and He does, a paradigm shift takes place.  Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord spake and said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying, Moses My servant is dead.  So now arise [take his place], go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land which I am giving to them, the Israelites (Joshua 1:1-2).

Have you ever felt like God asked you to occupy a seat or fill a position that was greater than your skill level, gifting or experience?  Take the place of Moses?  Take the place of a man who the Lord knew face to face, who worked great signs and wonders which the Lord sent him to do in Egypt, who moved in mighty power and great deeds in the sight of all Israel (Deuteronomy 34:10-12)?

God wasn't asking Joshua to be Moses or even to be like Moses.  God wasn't comparing the skill levels or relational competence of these two men.  God was commanding Joshua to do and fulfill his call.

Please note:  YOU CANNOT EXECUTE WHAT ONE HAS ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED.

That's the problem we have in the church and in our society.  We've lost our creative edge.  People are recycling mandates, because they don't know their purpose and they don't know God.  So, instead of authentic individuals making a difference in the world, we have a earth full of clones in line to be the next repeat.

BORING.  Take the boring out of your story and dare to be brave.  Dare to step out and step into your purpose.

Now I am not saying that we don't need great leaders to show us the way, because we need great man like Moses who can demonstrate the power and force of the kingdom of God.  But, my love one, when they are gone, we cannot die with them. We must do their legacy justice and not allow their pouring into us to be in vain.  Amen.

CROSS OVER

GET UP AND GO FORTH!  My God!  Be strong and of good courage.  Remember the Word of God, observe it and do it (Joshua 1:7-8).

The only way to fulfill your purpose is to do it.  Just do it!  Stop mourning, and rise up. Moses is dead, but you're not.

You have people to lead, places to conquer and a promise to apprehend.  Dare to be brave and seize the opportunity to leave your mark in the earth.  Yeah, Moses had a great testimony, but so did Joshua.  He annihilated kings and nations, commanded the sun to stand still, parted the Jordan and walked over with all of Israel, and conquered the land of Jericho by marching around it and releasing a great shout. Furthermore, he obtained the promise land which Moses could only see from a far off.

Come on get excited about your purpose. Get excited about what God has promised you.  Take courage and believe that you can excel in life and in Christ.  I decree that the weapons of depression and discouragement will not rob you or I of our future, in Jesus name.  What is before us is greater than what has been.

God encouraged Joshua three times to be strong and courageous.  We cannot be lukewarm in our beliefs in what God has said.  We must be resolute.  If God said it, then I believe it.  This must be our mindset and heart set at all times.

Well, Joshua was resolute after his conversation with God.  I prophesy, we, too, will have visitations and conversations with God that will put an end to our makeshift faith and engagement with purpose.  God is calling us out of mourning into our purpose and destiny.

We don't have anymore time to waste.   People are waiting on us to lead them into their promise.  GET UP AND LEAD IN FAITH, POWER, WITH FOCUS, HEART, AND STAMINA.  Your obedience is not up for negotiation.  You will obey and you will be a force to be reckon with.

Isn't that Good News?  That's amazing news!!!
